PP Luggage Sets: 3-Piece, 4-Piece and 8-Piece Programmes

A set sells as one decision instead of three, which is why retailers ask for them and why most of our first orders are sets. Here is how the configurations differ and which one fits which market.

The three configurations we produce

A three-piece set is 20" + 24" + 28" — cabin, medium, large. It is the default because it covers a family's whole trip in one purchase and packs efficiently for shipping.

A four-piece set adds a vanity or beauty case. It lifts the perceived value of the programme and gives a retailer a price point above the plain three-piece without a second shell mould.

An eight-piece programme runs 18" to 32", including sizes a three-piece does not reach. It is bought by markets that sell single cases as much as sets, and by sellers who want one listing that covers every size a customer might search for.

Which set size fits which market

Three-piece sets do best where floor space is tight and the customer buys once — department stores, mid-market chains, online listings with a single hero image.

Four-piece sets suit gifting seasons and markets where the vanity case is used as a cosmetics case in its own right.

Eight-piece programmes suit wholesale markets, bazaars and sellers who split the set and sell the cases individually. If you are unsure, ask for a quote on two configurations and compare the price per litre rather than the price per set.

Matching colours across the set

A set is only a set if the colour matches across sizes. In production that means the shells come off the same colour batch, not just the same colour code — a second batch of the same Pantone can read slightly differently under retail lighting.

We keep 20+ stock colours for exactly this reason. A stock colour across a set has no colour surcharge and no batch risk; a custom Pantone is possible and priced per order, and we will tell you the minimum that makes it worth running.

Packing and container maths

Sets nest, so the carton configuration decides your freight cost per unit. A three-piece set packed as one carton is not the same landed cost as the same set packed as three boxes, and the difference is bigger than most first-time buyers expect.

Ask for the carton dimensions and the units-per-container figure with your quote. If the number does not work for your volume, we split the order across models rather than shipping air.

Questions buyers ask on this

Can I order a set in more than one colour?

Yes. Colours can be mixed inside the order, and inside a carton if you want the assortment visible on the shelf. The minimum applies to the order, not to each colour: 10 pieces per model in stock colours, 200 once the colour is custom.

Do the sizes in a set have to be 20/24/28?

No. Three-piece sets are quoted in that configuration because it is what sells, but a size run can be built from what the moulds already produce — including the 18" to 32" range used in the eight-piece programme.

Is the vanity case included in the four-piece set?

Yes, on the models listed as four-piece. The vanity case is a separate mould, which is why it is not simply added to a three-piece order.

Can I put my logo on all pieces in a set?

Yes. The usual placement is the front shell of each case plus a label inside. Placement on the trolley or the wheels is possible on some models — ask before you design the artwork around it.

How are sets packed for shipping?

Nested, with the smaller cases inside the larger one, then cartoned. Individual boxing per piece is possible for retail or marketplace fulfilment and changes both the carton count and the freight maths.
